Passing of the Peace God Loves You and There is Nothing You Can Do About It

Musical Prayer The 23rdPsalmAdapted by Bobby Mc Ferrin (see insert)

Scripture Gospel of John14:23-27(The Inclusive New Testament Priests for Equality)Jesus answered him, “Those who love me will keep my word, and Abba God will love them, and we will come to them and make our dwelling place with them.  Those who don’t love me don’t  keep my words; Yet the message you hear is not mine, it comes   from the Abba who sent me.”I have said these things to you while I am still with you. 26But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom Abba God will send in my name, and will instruct you in everything, and she will remind you of all that I have said to you.27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, and do not let them be distressed or fearful.

Words of WisdomThe Tao of Being, (adaptation of Tao te Ching by Ray Grigg and thanks to John Michno for this offering)  “Everything has a common beginning. This beginning is called the Great Mother. Remember her to understand her children. Then return to the Great Mother. Traveling forever will not get outside her body; thinking forever will not get outside her thoughts. There is no need to struggle. With body trust her body; with thoughts, trust her thoughts. There is no need to fear death.”

Wisdom text of Hildegard“As the Creator loves his creation, so creation loves the creator…The creation, of course, was fashioned to be adorned, to be showered, to be gifted with the love of the Creator. The entire world has been embraced by this kiss.” Meditations with Hildegard of Binger, by Beverly Mayne Kienzle

Refection   Falling in Love with  God and God’s Love for Creation    Rev. Bonnie

Prayer(in unison)Dear God,You who are called by many names. You who are our Great Mother, our Cosmic Mother, the Black Madonna, Mother Mary, you who give us birth, we give you thanks. We are witnessing the 6thextinction of life on earth and one million species going extinct before our eyes. We come to youAbba God, our Papa God and ask for the strength to do what is right, that we may work for justice and live our lives in communion with you. We need your help.

We call upon you Goddess you who we call Amma, Our Holy Mama,  you who were called in the ancient world, El Shaddai or  the breasted one, who is  like a mountain, we give thanks for the miracle of life everywhere. God you who are inside us and speak to us in a still small voice, we give thanks. God of the Divine Feminine and the Sacred Masculine, and their sacred union of love, and love making, we give thanks. You the God of the earth and sky and within every creature, you who feel every wounding of creation, you who weeps for every species lost, we open our hearts to your pain and we give you our love.  We ask for your forgiveness. God who is in light and darkness, up and down, inside and outside, we come to give you thanks and praise. You the  God of justice who gives us courage, you who call us to love those with no one, we give thanks. You who are the bringer of dreams and visions, we give thanks and ask for our eyes and hearts to be opened to your ways of love. God, you who are like a passionate lover, we love you erotically and ask you-- are you in love with us too? We are here to fall in love with you again, again and again, in prayer, in song, in all that we do, all that we think, all that we love and in all that we dedicate our lives to. Joyfully, with every cell of our being,   we give you thanks and ask that we may feel your holy presence in our time of prayer now and always.    Amen

Closing PrayerSt. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much seek; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Musical Prayer                      I Hear a Call  by Tony Arata

I hear a call Now will answer Forsake my all  To serve another Though darkness falls Stay a believer I hear a call Now will answer I see a light Now will I follow
Fill up this life That grows more hollow Make joy reside Where there lives sorrow
I see a light Now will follow I hear a call From out of nowhere And from anywhere I go I hear a call Now will answer I feel a touch Now will I hold on Be there with love
For those with no one With a kindness such It lives though I'm gone I feel a touch
Now will I hold on I hear a call From out of nowhere And from everywhere I go
I see a light Now will I follow I feel a touch Now will I follow I hear a call Now will I answer
