Meditation "This awakens our human participation in the dream of the earth, the dream that is carried in its integrity not in any of earth's cultural processes but in the depths of our genetic coding. Therein Earth functions at a depth beyond our capacity for active thought. We can only be sensitized to what is being revealed to us. Such participation in the dream of earth we probably have not had since earlier times but therein lies our hope of the future for ourselves and for the entire earth community." Invocation Our Dear, Dear Mother by Raffi
Our dear, dear Mother, daily provider, earth be your name. The time has come, to honor you, to know you and to show our love.” 1.You give us each day our daily grain, kissed by the sun and kissed by the rain. Teach us now to find a way to care for you in our work and play. Chorus 2.Within the beauty of your silent spin, we know you’re hurting and we feel your pain. With your forgiveness we can start anew. We need a chance to make it up to you. Chorus

Scriptures Acts 2:1-6, 17 The Inclusive Bible, The First Egalitarian Translation
Pentecost is 50 days after Passover and 40 days after Easter, the Greek word for the Jewish Spring festival
2 When Pentecost Day arrived, they all met in one place. 2 Suddenly they heard what sounded like a violent rushing wind form heaven; the noise filled the entire house in which they were sitting. Something appeared to them that seemed like tongues of fire; these separated and came to rest on the head of each one. They were all filed with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages as she enabled them…..but they were bewildered to hear their native language being spoken …. 6 Joel the prophet spoke of: In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your young will see visions. Your elders will dream dreams.
Words of Wisdom “...the universe, by definition, is a single gorgeous celebratory event….. Our challenge is to create a new language, even a new sense of what it is to be human. It is to transcend not only national limitations, but even our species isolation, to enter into the larger community of living species.
This brings about a completely new sense of reality and value.” The Dream of the Earth, Thomas Berry

Closing Prayer St Francis of Assisi Prayer
Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much see; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Introduction of new members Dan Ahlgren and Jamie Long
Prayer
Membership Ceremony: Jamie and Dan are no longer strangers to us for as you become members of Church for Our Common Home, we make a promise to treat you as brothers and family. We promise to love you in good times and bad times, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer and ask that you make the same sacred promises to us, to Mother Earth and to God. As we make these sacred promises we ask that we remember that we do not expect to be able to always follow through on these promises. They show us the direction we are traveling together. We are a promise making, promise breaking, promise remaking people. We ask and pray that everyone will be honest with ourselves and with one another when we break these promises, and commit to do the work of truth and reconciliation in order to remake our scared promises.
1. Do you Dan and Jamie promise to open your hearts to receive the love we promise to give you here at Church for Our Common Home and to keep us in your daily prayers? I do.
2. Do you promise to try to follow in the ways of Jesus who taught us to love one another, especially the least of these? I do.
3. Do you promise to love and care for Mother Earth and all of the cosmos and creation? I do.
4. Do you promise to love the God of your understanding, called my many names? I do.

Morning has Broken by Eleanor Parjeon
Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness, where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day.
