Passing of the Peace God Loves You and There is Nothing You Can Do About It

Musical Prayer I’ve Got Peace Like  a River

I’ve Got Peace Like  a River……I’ve gotScripture Gospel ofJohn 13:21-3521After saying this Jesus was troubled in spirit, and declared, “Very truly, I tell you, one of you will betray me.” 22The disciples looked at one another, uncertain of whom he was speaking. ……Jesus said to him (Judas) , “Do quickly what you are going to do.” 28Now no one at the table knew why he said this to him.29Some thought that, because Judas had the common purse, Jesus was telling him, “Buy what we need for the festival”; or, that he should give something to the poor. 30So, after receiving the piece of bread, he immediately went out. And it was night…….(Jesus said) .34” I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. 35By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Reading “Like millions of women, Eve has been waiting much of her lifetime for an apology. Sexually and physically abused by her father, Eve has struggled her whole life from this betrayal, longing for an honest reckoning from a man who is long dead. After years of work as an anti-violence activist, she decided she would wait no longer; an apology could be imagined, by her, for her, to her. The Apology, written by Eve from her father’s point of view in the words she longed to hear, attempts to transform the abuse she suffered with unflinching truthfulness, compassion, into an expansive vision for the future.”

Review of the book by Anita Hill“As only she can, Eve Ensler shares the story of her father’s ultimate betrayal with both unflinching candor and immeasurable grace. Through sheer creative force, she takes us on her own journey to healing. Though Ensler’s story is deeply personal, its lessons are universal.”

Prayer   (in unison)

Dear God,

We ask for common sense, animal instinct and communion with angels and spiritual dimension beyond our five senses to guide us in our love and healing. WE ask for your help in healing the abuse to our Mother Earth and to women’s bodies. . We pray for courage to face the truth. We  humbly surrender to your miraculous healing power and grace as we seek freedom from our wounds of betrayal.  We gives thanks for the full moon and the dreams and visions of the Divine that bring us closer to you.  Please heal us from our modern alienation from our bodies, the Earth’s body and your body gracious God that embraces and loves all life. We surrender our pain to you and ask for your love as we go on the journey of healing and love.  We pray  in the name of Jesus who taught us to love one another as he loved us. We pray for you to help us learn to  pray our  enemies as Jesus taught.  Amen.

Come, dream a dream with me….Come walk in rain…Come share a rose with me.

Anointing

Blessings to the person on your right. “(name) I give you my blessing.  (name) I give you God’s blessing.”

Closing PrayerSt. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much seek; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen
