Dr. Walt  Rutherford is the Director of Our Common Home Counseling Center and is known as a pioneer in the research and treatment of trauma therapies. He was the director of one of the first VA Vet Centers in the nation, where he began his study of the phenomena later to be known as Post Traumatic Stress DisorderWalt has studied and taught Buddhist philosophy and psychology and has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology.

He is known for his work with couples and relationship counseling. After forty years of solo practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Walt is excited to co-create a dynamic center with his wife Bonnie that models loving relationship.

The human family is undergoing a spiritual and ecological awakening. Where ever you are on your spiritual journey you are welcome here. Honoring intimacy in all our relationships and with the natural world we invite integration of art, psychology, ecology and the ancient wisdom traditions.

Rev. Bonnie Tarwater  has served as a parish minister for over twenty years. She is a pastoral counselor,  spiritual director,  dream worker, artist, musician and writer and the minister of Church for Our Common Home.  Her life experince living and traveling in many countries, her commitment as a social justice activist, and her role as a wife, mother and grandmother informs her global perspective.  Bonnie is deeply concerned with the epidemic of loneliness in the modern world and is devoted to loving relationships as the deepest of all psychospiritual practices, supporting her clients in finding meaning, life purpose and community.   She has served as a hospital and hospice chaplain and currently  on several nonprofit board of directors.
