Our dear, dear Mother, daily provider, earth be your name. The time has come, to honor you, to know you and to show our love.” 1.You give us each day our daily grain, kissed by the sun and kissed by the rain. Teach us now to find a way to care for you in our work and play. Chorus2.Within the beauty of your silent spin, we know you’re hurting and we feel your pain your pain. With your forgiveness we can start anew. We need a chance to make it up to you. Chorus

I went down to the River to Pray

Attributed to George H. Allan in the Slave Songbook of 1867

I went down to the river to pray, studying about that good old way and who shall wear the starry crown, good God show me the way. Oh Laina, let’s go down, let’s go down, come on down, Oh Laina, let’s go down, down in the river to pray. (Repeat- Oh Nasiya, let’s go down…)

Unison Prayer  Mother/Father God who is within us, we celebrate your many names. Your wisdom come, your will be done, unfolding from the depths within us. Each day you give us all that we need. You

remind us of our limits and we let go. You support us in our power and we act with courage. For you are the dwelling place within us, the empowerment around us, and the celebration among us, now and forever. Amen

Scriptures Zephaniah 3:17 ..for Yahweh your God is  in your midst…and will rejoice and dance over you and be glad of it: God will show you love once more, and exult with songs of joy and soothe those who are grieving.(rejoice in Hebrew means to spin around under the influence of violent emotion AKA to  DANCE!)

Inclusive Bible New Egalitarian Translation

The Round Dance of the Cross Gnostic, Jesus told us to form a circle and hold each other’s hands and he himself stood in the middle….He said, ‘I will play the flute, Dance everyone…the whole universe takes part in the dance. Whoever does not dance does not know what happens. Amen.’

The Gnostic Bible edited by Marvin Meyers

Musical response  Medley  Tis a Gift to Be Simple,

Lord of the Dance  and Appalachian Spring

American Shaker tune and Aron Copland

'Tis the gift to be free 'Tis the gift to come down where we ought to be
And when we find ourselves in the place just right
It will be in the valley of love and delight.

When true simplicity is gained To bow and to bend, we will not be ashamed To turn, turn, will be our delight 'Til by turning, turning, we come round right.

I danced in the morning. When the world was begun, And I danced in the moon. And the stars and the sun, And I came down from heaven And I danced on the earth, At San Diego I had my birth.

Dance, then, wherever you may be, I am the God/ess of the Dance, said she, And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be, And I'll lead you all in the Dance, said she.

Closing Hymn                                This Little Light of Mine

This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…let it shine….

This little dream of mine, it’s gonna be my guide…..be my guide…

This little dance of mine, dancing with God all the time….all the time…

Closing Prayer                       St Francis of Assisi Prayer

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much see; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Dancing and Singing after Dinner

The Hoky Poky

Tiny Dancer, by Elton John

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you'll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she's in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

Jesus freaks out in the street
Handing tickets out for God
Turning back she just laughs
The boulevard is not that bad

Piano man he makes his stand
In the auditorium
Looking on she sings the songs
The words she knows, the tune she hums

But oh how it feels so real
Lying here with no one near
Only you and you can hear me
When I say softly, slowly

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me down in sheets of linen
You had a busy day today

Hold me closer tiny dancer
Count the headlights on the highway
Lay me…
