Prayersof Confession  (in unison) Most merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, words and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved all of creation as ourselves. We are truly sorry and humbly ask to tell the truth and reconciliation with you who are the source of all. Have mercy on us

and forgive us that we may grow and spiritually mature. Please pull us toward your hope and promise for miraculous healing and love.  Amen

Closing PrayerSt. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi Prayer

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; And where there is sadness, joy, And where there is sadness, joy, joy, joy. God grant that I may not so much see; To be consoled as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive, It is in pardoning that we pardoned. And it is in dying that we are born, to Eternal Life. Amen, Amen, Amen

Scripture Reading

The Inclusive Bile; The First Egalitarian Translation

 Genesis 21:15-19

21:15-19 When the skin of water was empty, she (Hagar) set the child under a bush and sat down opposite him, about a bow shot away.

She said to herself, “Don’t let me see the child die!” and she began to wail and weep. God heard the child crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from the heaven.

“What is wrong, Hagar?” the angel asked.

“Do not be afraid, for God has heard the child’s cry. Get up and lift up the child and hold his hand; for I will make him a great nation.” Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. She went to it and filled the skin with water, and she gave the child a drink.

Announcements:We are witnessing the 6thextinction of life on earth -the only one created by humans. We gather to create community and to give thanks to God for all of creation as we build a new ‘ecologic civilization.’  .  Jesus taught a way to live in the truth and taught us that, “The truth will set you free.” (John 8:32) Every Sunday at 5 pm we acknowledge that we need one another more than ever before as we deepen our relationship with God. Following worship we invite everyone to the Mary Magdalene Cafe for a pot luck dinner at 6 pm, with vegetarian soup or main dish and drinks provided. Weather permitting we share star gazing and dancing. We follow in the early traditions of house churches led by women in the first few hundred years of early Christianity and also to study the newly found gnostic gospels. Children and dogs are especially welcome at worship. (Dogs are not allowed at Torrey Pines State Park)
